Mango Almond Milk Chia seed Smoothie with sweetness of Honey  | Kukskitchen


Chia seeds are the new big thing. I was fascinated reading the health benefits. I have been meaning to try  it in recipes ever since.

This recipe was whipped up on a lazy Sunday night when I was craving for something special but didnot want to take all the carbs in. I was so pleased when Mathew liked it too.


The below is a fact sheet I found somewhere a few months ago.

1. Chia Seeds Deliver a Massive Amount of Nutrients With Very Few Calories
2. Chia Seeds Are Loaded With Antioxidants
3. Almost All The Carbs in Them Are Fiber
4. Chia Seeds Are High in Quality Protein
5. Due to The High Fiber and Protein Content, Chia Seeds Should be Able to Help You Lose Weight
6. Chia Seeds Are High in Omega-3 Fatty Acids
7. Chia Seeds May Improve Certain Blood Markers, Which Should Lower The Risk of Heart Disease and Type 2 Diabetes
8. They Are High in Many Important Bone Nutrients
9. Chia Seeds Can Cause Major Improvements in Type 2 Diabetics
10. Chia Seeds Can Improve Exercise Performance as Much as a Sports Drink
11. Chia Seeds Are Easy to Incorporate Into Your Diet


A few things before we start:
  • Use cow's milk if you donot like almond milk.
  • Garnish with flaked almonds if you fancy a crunch.

Mango Almond Milk Chia seed Smoothie with sweetness of Honey

Ingredients:

Big mango - 1, cut in to large chunks
Almond milk - 1 1/2cups
Chia seeds - 2 tsp
Honey - 2 tsp

Method:

Add all the ingredients into a blender and pulse until smooth. Pour into a glass and drink up!
