Soya bean masala | Kukskitchen

Soya bean masala | Kukskitchen

Soya beans are a great source of protein. It is a great additive to your meal and tasty too. They are supposed to provide the phyto oestrogens ( plant estrogen) which is good especially for post menopausal ladies. But then this has never been proved on cochrane  reviews. So boys, don't worry. Devour on this cheap protein.

I present here my own version of soya bean masala. It tastes amazing and goes really well with roti and rice.

Spicy Tofu and chick pea curry | Kukskitchen

I am a self-proclaimed carnivore. However, I can confidently cook-up a veggie side dish, but when it comes to vegetarian mains I am not the confidant cook you see at other times. Recently I have made that extra effort to try and innovate on veggie mains as well and like all carnivores I go for a meat-like option. Guilty!!

I like soya chunks, paneer and my current favourite is tofu. It is silky in texture and melts in your mouth. Tofu greedily absorbs all the yumminess you add to your dish enriching its own flavour. My hubby likens it to cooked white of egg. Well, you've got to try to see what you think. Presented is a hearty tofu and chick pea curry. The bite from the chick peas complements the silky tofu very well. Please adjust the spice level to your fiery threshold.

What is pilav / fried rice / biriyani?

Pilaf or pilav or pulav, is a dish in which rice is cooked in a seasoned broth. The English term pilaf is borrowed directly from Turkish, palov, which in turn comes from Persian polow (پلو), and ultimately derives from Sanskrit pulāka- (पुलाक), "lump of boiled rice". We know it, everything gains their origin from india :-).

In India pilav is mostly prepared in a coconut milk broth.

Fried rice, on the other hand is a popular component of Southeast Asian cuisine, where it is staple as Southeast Asian foods. It is made from steamed rice stir-fried in a wok, often with other ingredients, such as eggs, vegetables, and meat.

Biryani or biriyani ( Malayalam: ബിരിയാണി, Kannada: ಬಿರಿಯಾನಿ, Tamil: பிரியாணி, Hindi: बिरयानी, Telugu: బిర్యాని, Urdu: بریانی) is a set of rice-based foods made with spices, rice (usually basmati) and meat, fish, eggs or vegetables. The name is derived from the Persian word beryā(n) (بریان) which means "fried" or "roasted".

Soya chunks stir fry | Low fat meat alternative | Kukskitchen

soya chunks stir fry low fat meat alternative

Soya chunks is something that has never been featured in kukskitchen. The whole 'going healthy' pairs well with soya chunks.  Soy is rich in protein and low in fat. There are many a variety of soya available in the shops - tofu and dried soya meat being just the most common ones I have seen.
